• Tested - passed the National Home Inspector Exam (NHIE) in addition to the state exam required for licensing. Only ASHI members take a proctored exam in addition to any state licensure requirements.
• Experienced - all ASHI members have a minimum experience of 250 inspections although most of our members have performed several thousand of inspections and have 10 to 25 years of experience.
• Reports Verified - ASHI certification means that every ASHI member has submitted sufficient copies of their reports to verify that the ASHI Standards of Practice are being followed in report writing.
• Education - every ASHI member must take 20 hours of continuing education while other licensees only have to take 12 hours of continuing education. Our standards are much higher than the state.
• Professional - ASHI members must observe a strict Code of Ethics that demand fairness with no perception of conflict of interest. ASHI members will never offer or accept a repair or maintenance request from a buyer or seller of an inspected home within 12 months following the inspection.
